Stephanie Nicholls – Piano and Woodwind

Stephanie Nicholls is an oboist, pianist, arranger, musical director and educator with more than four decades of experience in Western Australia’s music community. She is currently Associate Principal Oboe with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and regularly appears as Principal Oboe with Perth Symphony Orchestra.
 
Stephanie is a sought-after collaborative pianist and coach, working with instrumentalists, singers and ensembles across classical and contemporary styles. She has held teaching and lecturing roles at the UWA Conservatorium of Music and WAAPA, and currently works as College Accompanist at Methodist Ladies’ College.
 
A highly experienced music educator, Stephanie was appointed National Oboe Syllabus Consultant for the Australian Music Examinations Board in 2017 and continues to work as an AMEB examiner. She is also an experienced adjudicator for festivals and eisteddfods.
 
Stephanie is the founder and Artistic Director of Mirabilis Collective, a Western Australian chamber ensemble celebrating music by women across six centuries. Through Mirabilis Collective, she champions underrepresented composers, creates original arrangements, mentors emerging musicians, and develops performances that connect music with storytelling and community.
 
Stephanie is delighted to adjudicate the Albany Eisteddfod and support the next generation of young musicians.
